Compulsive Eaters Anonymous: Honest, Open minded, Willing (CEA-HOW) is a worldwide twelve-step program for compulsive eaters. Members support one another by regularly attending meetings and abstaining from sugar, flour and excessive quantities of food.
The primary purpose of CEA-HOW is to carry its message to the compulsive eater who still suffers. Individual members share their experiences and a program of recovery with those who seek it. There are no dues or fees for membership in CEA-HOW, just a viable, successful solution for those who suffer from the addiction of compulsive eating.
CEA-HOW is not a diet plan. It is based on Alcoholics Anonymous’ 12 step program created by Bill W. and Dr. Bob in 1935. Today, CEA-HOW’s World Service Office is located in Los Angeles, CA.
The goal of CEA-HOW is to help its members recover from compulsive eating. Members follow a food plan that includes protein, fruit, vegetables, and whole grains.

What is the cost? This is not a commercial weight loss program. There are no dues or fees to join.
How much weight can I lose? This will vary depending on whatever you need to get a normal weight. Members have lost between 20 and 100’s of pounds.
How long do you have to do the program? We work on it a day at a time; however, you initially start with a 30-day program.
What kind of food will I eat? We eat protein, fruit, vegetables and whole grains.
Is special food required? No, our members eat regular food. You can easily find everything in your local grocery store.
Which foods do I abstain from? We abstain from sugar and flour. We also abstain from eating large quanties of food.
Does it require exercise? No, members have lost all their weight without exercise.
Do I have to go to meetings?We do attend meetings where we support and help one another.
How does this program differ from Overeaters Anonymous? We have a structured food plan that everyone follows.
Why do you abstain from sugar? Sugar in our bodies makes us crave more food… Cut out the sugar and you will discover you stop being hungry.
Why should I do CEA-HOW instead of the other programs? We offer a disciplined and structured program. Our members have experienced significant weight loss and long term-maintenance. For most of us, the program addresses the root cause of our compulsive overeating. You don’t have to be fat anymore.
